The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Senior Frontend Engineer with extensive experience and knowledge of Javascript and a desire to work in React. Our Frontend engineers have the autonomy to research, experiment, build, test, and iterate on the best solutions for our customers. You'll collaborate closely with Backend Engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers, and QA Engineers in a highly cooperative environment. Our micro-frontend infrastructure supports independent deployments, enabling rapid iteration and innovation. This role has the option for remote work, but is available only for candidates who reside in the Philippines.

What You'll Do:

  • You'll be working with a highly collaborative development squad with another frontend engineer, backend engineers, and dedicated PM, UX, and QA.
  • You'll be building a suite of unified tools that enable tax professionals to manage their practice, navigate complex scenarios in the tax resolution field, and interact with their clients in a variety of natural, meaningful ways.
  • Work in a modern front-end tech stack that facilitates squad ownership and enables rapid iteration and deployments multiple times each day.
  • Utilize best practices and patterns to build robust solutions that delight a demanding clientele.
  • Enhance your knowledge and skills through mentoring, ongoing training, and tackling challenging problems, supported by management that values continuous learning and development.
  • You'll contribute to a culture that prizes doing good for others, owning our craft, and winning in our industry.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of experience building and deploying high-quality, production-ready applications.
  • Experience and knowledge of Javascript and the web, with a desire to work in React.
  • Experience with a view library/framework such as React, Vue, Angular, etc. React is preferred.
  • Experience building and shipping production-ready web applications that are actively used and relied upon.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end tools and build pipelines such as Typescript and Webpack, version control systems (we use Git), and testing tools like Jest and React Testing Library.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be fluent in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection with consistent performance to support video conferencing, collaboration tools, and uninterrupted remote work.
  • Ability to work a schedule that overlaps with 9 AM and 1 PM Mountain Time (MT). This corresponds with 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM Philippine Time (PHT). Please ensure your availability aligns with this time frame before applying.

Interviewing @ Canopy:

Application processes can be a little stressful. Here are the stages of a typical interview process at Canopy:

  • Once your application is received, we will review it and get back to you if we feel like it’s a mutual fit!
  • 20-minute phone call with the People Team
  • 60-minute video interview - technical screen
  • 1-3 rounds of interviews, depending on the role
  • Final Interview and/or reference checks

Interview processes can vary depending on the role. The People Team will give you a role-specific overview of the process during your first phone call.
