The Opportunity

We are looking for an organized and collaborative Product Owner to join our R&D team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the execution of our product vision by working closely with Product Management, Engineering, UX, and other cross-functional teams. You will facilitate two teams, ensure smooth Agile processes, and deliver high-quality product increments that align with business objectives — if this sounds like you, apply today! This is a hybrid position in South Jordan, Utah.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring clear prioritization and alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to translate high-level vision into actionable development tasks.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
  • Serve as the Scrum Master for two teams, facilitating sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, design, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Take ownership of delivery timelines, ensuring projects stay on track and within scope.
  • Champion an Agile mindset, fostering adaptability, iterative improvement, and a people-first culture.
  • Identify and remove impediments to maintain team momentum and productivity.
  • Ensure alignment with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices for SaaS products.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer needs, prioritizing deliverables with meaningful value.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Scrum Master, or similar role in a SaaS company.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, and design teams.
  • Proven ability to context switch and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to take ownership of the delivery process, ensuring high-quality and timely releases.
  • A people-first mindset, with a strong ability to empower teams and remove impediments.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for continuous learning, adapting to change, and iterating on product improvements.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Scrum or Agile certification (CSM, CSPO, SAFe, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.

Interviewing @ Canopy:

Application processes can be a little stressful. Here are the stages of a typical interview process at Canopy:

  • Once your application is received, we will review it and get back to you if we feel like it’s a mutual fit!
  • 20-minute phone call with the People Team
  • 45-minute video with the Hiring Manager
  • 1-2 rounds of panel interviews, depending on the role

Interview processes can vary depending on the role. The People Team will give you a role-specific overview of the process during your first phone call.
